Each month, employees nominate one of their fellow Walk Westies who has gone above and beyond and embodied the agency’s values to be Employee of the Month, who are then recognized at Walk West’s monthly agency-wide meeting.
This month, we’re highlighting an employee who’s truly one of a kind. That’s right, we’re talking about Ruth Gierisch, our Director of Project Management. Queen of process and organization, Ruth is shaping Walk West from the inside out. From her very first day, she’s worked to outline, create, and implement processes that are making everyone’s lives easier.
She works with every member of every team to set, define, and activate efficient processes that take us from ideation to execution. A self-professed “process nerd,” Ruth has a natural talent for organizing chaos. Prior to diving in head first at Walk West, she spent nearly 20 years in sales and marketing with a local independent newsweekly. Her experience, combined with her dedication to a job well done, make her one of our strongest assets.
Ruth currently lives in Durham, NC with her wife, Jackie, and their three French Bulldogs, Gidget, Frank, and Beans. When she’s not making her coworkers laugh with a random Slack gif (or hilarious image of her wearing a drumstick costume), you’ll likely find her gardening, working out, or planning her next home project.
