Sharon Delaney McCloud

VP, Professional Development

The Gift of Gab.

Partner and VP of professional development, Sharon is well-versed in the gift of gab and uses it to help companies and brands connect with their target audience. A coveted keynote speaker, Sharon draws from both her personal and professional life to inspire audiences into action. And inspire she does. An Emmy-award winning reporter, an Olympic torch carrier and the face of many magazine covers to name a few. She also brings that gift to her teammates and believes it’s important to get to know each of them in a meaningful way to best understand how they can work together successfully.

How does Sharon #ForgeAhead: Puts one foot in front of the other because when obstacles get in your way, you can look up, get up and get going.

More About Sharon

Born to Irish immigrants in Nairobi, Kenya, later moving to Tanzania, then New York and Miami, Sharon attended Florida State University studying Communications, with minors in Theater and Music. Her performance strengths were her launching pad to great success, working for the Department of Defense and traveling the world with the USO, fulfilling the organization’s mission of uplifting and inspiring servicemen and women overseas.

Back stateside, Sharon spent the next 20 years as an Emmy Award-winning television news journalist, broadcaster and producer in several regional markets, eventually settling in Raleigh as a TV news anchor with the local NBC affiliate. To further her borderless contributions to solidarity initiatives, she was chosen to carry the Olympic Torch for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

In 2008, she made the leap of faith to reinvent herself as an entrepreneur and co-founded a full-service digital marketing company (Greenroom Communications), specializing in the creation of premium video content across all landscapes for commercial, corporate and non-profit use. She recruited and hired a talented team of video producers, internet marketing and social media management experts, and eventually navigated the team to a successful merger with Walk West in January 2017.

Sharon has been featured in numerous publications, including Sheryl Sandburg’s Option B digital platform,  Enterprising Women and co-author of the new book, Keep Going, Memoirs of Strength, Courage & Perseverance.  In 2018, Sharon was nominated to be included in the inaugural KNOW Tribe Raleigh book, honoring the top businesswomen in the city. She then was selected for the Best of KNOW 2018 Book, recognizing the top professional women from across North America featured in the KNOW Tribe network.

As a sought after keynote speaker, you’ll often see Sharon headlining conferences across the country. She especially loves empowering women and the next generation of leaders by helping them amplify their voices and build resilience.
